Honaunau Beach House in South Kona, with safe swimming for the entire familyExperience old Hawaii in this beautiful, beach house; just yards from Honaunau Bay and 2 steps near the City of Refuge National Park. Walk across the street and swim, dive or snorkel, arguably, the nicest bay on the island. Honaunau is great place to canoe, paddle board, kayak or scuba dive and we have a boat launch. Enjoy the warm water, tropical fish, green sea turtles, dolphins and more. There is no charge for this dolphin show or swim, the dolphins seem to enjoy performing for and around the snorkelers and we can watch them from the lanai! It's pretty amazing to see dolphins spinning in the wild.
Our home is centrally located in South Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Just 30 miles south of the airport and Kailua-Kona, out of the big city, but close enough to go for excursions. Volcano National Park is about 75 miles away and Hilo is just a little over 100. Captain Cook is 10 miles away and it offers, a variety of shopping, and dining options.

Pick up supplies as you come through Kona. This home is in such a great location that you might not want to drive anywhere. Maybe you would prefer to just relax on the lanai with a cocktail and watch the dolphins spinning in the bay and the sun set on the water. Take a stroll down to the white sand beach and let the children experience snorkeling in the safe, calm, shallow waters. Take a walk over to Pu`uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park, commonly known as the City of Refuge; and learn about the Hawaiian culture.
